MJF: ‘I Am Hands Down The Most Polarizing Professional Wrestler In The Industry Today’

MJF believes that he is “hands down” the most polarizing professional wrestler in the industry today. The World Champion has had a noteworthy career in AEW when it comes to fan appreciation. While MJF has a following due to his abilities on the microphone and in the ring, Max feels this makes him a uniquely polarizing figure.

In a new interview during Super Bowl week, MJF told Ross Tucker that he feels he currently holds the title of the most polarizing professional wrestler in the world. He argued that the duality of fan emotion is exactly what makes him a top attraction for the promotion.

“I think I am hands down the most polarizing professional wrestler in the industry today. Some people love to pay me. Some people hate to hate me. But at the end of the day, people can’t take their eyes off of me, and that’s why I make my company a lot of money,” MJF said.

Turning Down WWE

During the same interview with Tucker, MJF revealed that his wrestling trajectory could have been significantly different. At the age of 22, upon leaving MLW, he was offered contracts by both WWE and AEW. MJF explained that he ultimately chose to sign with AEW because he believed in the company’s mission statement as a place “where the best are meant to wrestle.”

MJF’s decision to stay with AEW recently ended with him securing a second reign as AEW World Champion. He is currently scheduled to defend that title against Hangman Page at the Revolution PPV next month. Page earned the title shot by defeating Andrade in a number one contender’s match at Grand Slam Australia in Sydney over the weekend.
