As many of you may have noticed tonight, MJF is no longer featured in the opening for AEW Rampage. He is also being removed from the opening from Dynamite.
This comes on the heels of his worked shoot promo this past Wednesday night. Since the promo, AEW has pulled him from their roster page. They have also pulled his merchandise. The only MJF merchandise available is stuff from his pre-AEW days on Pro Wrestling Tees.
AEW has not issued any statements on MJF but the belief is that this is all an elaborate worked shoot and that MJF will eventually return, possibly to challenge CM Punk for the World Championship in Chicago at All Out. If that is the plan, then it would depend on if Punk heals from his injury by that time.
As noted earlier, Punk is going to require surgery for an injury but he is still AEW World Champion and an interim champion will be crowned at the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view.
