MJF Joins The Cast Of “Violent Night 2”

MJF has landed another role in a Hollywood film. According to a new report from Deadline, the former AEW World Champion has joined the cast of the upcoming holiday action-comedy sequel, “Violent Night 2.” The news also comes with a new report detailing his incredibly hectic schedule, as he juggles his new marriage, his wrestling commitments, and his new film role.

The film, which Universal Pictures and 87North are producing, will see David Harbour reprise his role as the ass-kicking Santa Claus. MJF and influencer Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor are the latest additions to a cast that also includes Kristen Bell, Daniela Melchior, Jared Harris, and Joe Pantoliano. The sequel will be directed by Tommy Wirkola from a screenplay by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. While the specific plot details are being kept under wraps, the film is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, December 4, 2026. The roles for both MJF and Bachelor have not yet been disclosed.

The first “Violent Night,” which was released in 2022, was a hit, following an embittered and combat-ready Santa Claus who takes on a team of ruthless mercenaries to save a family on Christmas Eve. This new role is another addition to MJF’s growing acting resume. He made his feature film debut with a role in the wrestling biopic, “The Iron Claw.” He was seen in the Netflix hit, “Happy Gilmore 2,” where he played the son of Adam Sandler’s character. He also has a role in the upcoming crime-thriller, “Strangelhold,” which is set to make its festival debut in 2025.

While his acting career is taking off, MJF remains one of the top attractions in AEW. A new report from Fightful Select has shed light on just how busy his schedule is. After getting married on September 5, he immediately appeared at the AEW Collision taping in Philadelphia on September 6. He then flew to Winnipeg to begin filming “Violent Night 2,” a commitment that will cause him to miss tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

His schedule doesn’t let up. According to the report, he will fly back from Winnipeg for the September 11 Collision taping in Philadelphia, then immediately fly back to Winnipeg to resume filming. From there, he flies to Mexico City to main event the CMLL 92nd Anniversary show against Místico on September 19. The very next day, he is scheduled to face Mark Briscoe at the AEW All Out pay-per-view in Toronto. He will then fly back to Winnipeg to continue filming the movie.
