MJF has named Hangman Adam Page as the closest in-ring promo to his level in AEW, telling The Hollywood Reporter in a new interview that the most intense verbal battles he has had in AEW have come opposite Page.
The conversation came up when MJF was asked who, in or outside of AEW, he believes has microphone skills closest to his. The Hollywood Reporter interviewer initially suggested The Miz as a comparison, but MJF dismissed it.
“No. He’s a great guy though. Miz is a great guy.”
MJF then named Page directly. “In my company, who is close? I think gun to my head, some of the most intense verbal battles I’ve had has been in the ring with Hangman Adam Page.”
MJF and Page have had multiple memorable in-ring confrontations across the years, with their most recent match being at AEW Revolution in March, where MJF retained his AEW World Championship in a Texas Death Match. Now, Page can never challenge for the World Title.
The Miz comparison is one that MJF has been working to push back against throughout his career. CM Punk famously called MJF a “less famous Miz” on the November 24, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite.
MJF has separately teased the idea of jumping to WWE in past media interviews. The 2024 contract speculation around MJF generated conversation among fans.
MJF reclaimed the AEW World Championship from Darby Allin at Sunday’s Double or Nothing 2026 Title vs Hair main event. The win ended Allin’s short title reign of just over one month, with the AEW World Championship returning to MJF as the fourth reign of his career.
