MJF On His AEW Return: I Came Back A Little Bit Earlier Than I Probably Physically Should Have

At the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view event, MJF returned from hiatus, where he laid out Adam Cole after being sidelined for several months. He cut a promo about how he was back to his old self and confirmed he had signed a new contract with AEW.

This was after MJF worked the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event in December despite dealing with a torn labrum and a hip injury. He dropped the World Title to Samoa Joe and took a hiatus.

He has worked a handful of matches since then including a win over Hechicero at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event and most notably winning the International Title from Will Ospreay on a recent episode of Dynamite.

While speaking to Cultaholic Wrestling’s Jack King, the top AEW star noted that he still isn’t 100 percent.

MJF said, “I’ve come back from injury and I will tell you candidly, so here’s a little clickbait for you. I’m still not 100 percent. I had to come back because I don’t know if you noticed this, but the show without me blew a bag of d*cks. So I came back a little bit earlier than I probably physically should have. The funny thing is I was still able to beat RUSH, Templario, soon it’ll be Michael Oku, Kyle Fletcher, and Will Ospreay, and I’m gonna do it again on August 25th. And that’s me at 80 percent.”

MJF will defend the International Title against Ospreay at the All In pay-per-view event in a few weeks.
