MJF Says ‘Problem Children’ Found Their Way Out Of AEW

MJF notes that everybody on the AEW roster is pushing each other to be the absolute best version of themselves. Over the course of AEW’s existence since its 2019 launch, the roster has changed in many ways, with names coming and going throughout the promotion’s lifespan. This has left them with a multi-talented locker room that many believe is the best it has ever been.

While speaking to the New York Post in an interview following the announcement of Double or Nothing 2026 coming to New York City, MJF spoke about “problem children” who have found their way out the door before discussing the competitive nature of the current roster.

“To put it mildly, I don’t have to name names, it’s not necessary to name names, but problem children tend to have a way of finding their way out the door, and some of those problem children, in my opinion, they thought they were taking a step forward when all they were doing was taking a step laterally or backwards,” MJF said.

The AEW World Champion stated that the current environment is one of healthy internal competition. He described a chain reaction where top stars are constantly forced to elevate their game to keep up with their peers. This culture of accountability is what MJF believes sets the company apart as it heads into its major spring pay-per-views.

“Everybody’s pushing each other to be the absolute best version of ourselves. I’m pushing Swerve, Swerve’s pushing Hangman, Hangman’s pushing Kenny [Omega], Kenny’s pushing [Kyle] Fletcher, Fletcher’s pushing [Will] Ospreay and so on and so forth. It’s a domino effect. And that’s why our show is so incredible right now. We are all biting on each other’s heels. We all want the spot. We all want the championship. To top it off, we all care deeply about All Elite Wrestling,” MJF added.

MJF is currently preparing for a significant defense of his AEW World Title against Hangman Page at Revolution on March 15 in Los Angeles.
