MVP On Intergender Wrestling: “I Am Not A Fan Of It”

MVP Explains Why He Dislikes Intergender Wrestling

Professional wrestler MVP has voiced a strong opposition to intergender wrestling, citing his background in combat sports and a belief in biological differences as his primary reasons. Speaking on his podcast, MVP argued that the concept breaks the suspension of disbelief required for his preferred style of “simulated combat.”

“I am not a fan of intergender wrestling. I don’t like it,” MVP stated. “I approach wrestling from the simulated combat mindset… You don’t have intergender Boxing. Don’t have intergender MMA, because biology matters.”

MVP attributed the popularity of intergender matches to a generational shift influenced by video games, where character size and gender do not determine the outcome of a fight.

“The video game culture… grew up playing Chun Li and kicking the shit out of people,” he said. “In that world, everybody’s evenly matched… But if you’re doing suspension of disbelief… not if I can punch them and not if I can kick them.”

Comments on Ronda Rousey

To illustrate his point, MVP recounted a conversation regarding former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey during his return to WWE. He claimed that despite her Olympic pedigree, size would ultimately determine the victor in a legitimate altercation between them.

“I said, Ronda Rousey is half my size. She could, she might whoop you. She couldn’t whoop me,” MVP stated. “I went up against a three time Judo Olympian… he didn’t take me off my feet… What’s this 120 pound woman gonna do to me? Yeah, you got skills, but I got skills too… You can take the Women’s Champion in her weight class, and you can get some jabroni from the rank top 50, and he’s gonna whoop her.”

MVP clarified that he does not judge fans who enjoy the style or promoters who book it successfully, but emphasized that it does not align with his philosophy of wrestling. “If you’re selling tickets… by all means, but I’m not a fan of it,” he concluded.
