MVP On His In-Ring Career: ‘I Got A Little Bit Left In Me’

In a recent interview on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, MVP discussed his current role in AEW as the manager and occasional wrestler for The Hurt Syndicate, alongside Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. The Hurt Syndicate, the current AEW World Tag Team Champions, reunited in AEW in late 2024 after a successful but ultimately disbanded run as The Hurt Business in WWE, which also included Cedric Alexander.

MVP has primarily taken on a managerial role in AEW but recently had an in-ring appearance, sparking questions about his retirement plans and the potential future of the stable. Here are the highlights:

On if he has retired from the ring: “No, not yet. I got a little bit left in me. It’s funny. We did a six-man about a month ago now, give or take, and they were teasing me because I was actually in there for a little while, and it felt good. It was coming back to me, and Shelton said, ‘Are you ever gonna tag out?’ I’m like ‘Oh yeah, maybe I should’.”

On if The Hurt Syndicate will be adding more members: “We are always ready to talk business with whomever, whenever, if the time is right. As they say, ‘If it don’t make dollars, it don’t make sense.’ So I can tell you with the utmost confidence that at some point in the future, we’ll add another. I can promise you that.”
