After Kevin Knight’s match against Jay White on Saturday’s Collision, Tony Khan announced Knight had officially joined AEW.
PWInsider.com reports, “Knight had an invited tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando several weeks ago, but in the end, decided to sign with AEW.” Knight began his professional wrestling career in 2019 and joined NJPW the following year.
He started as a young lion and steadily improved his skills, eventually teaming up with KUSHIDA in 2022. Together, they won the IWGP Jr. Tag Team titles twice. Their most recent appearance as a team was at Wrestle Kingdom 19, where they lost the titles in a four-way ladder match to Robbie Eagles and Kosei Fujita.
Since his departure from NJPW, Knight has participated in wrestling events for independent promotions like Maple Leaf Pro and GCW. His recent signing with AEW marks a new chapter in his career, as he looks to make a name for himself on a larger stage.
“Congratulations, it’s official!,” Khan wrote. After a fantastic performance at Saturday Night #AEWCollision tonight, @Jet2Flyy Kevin Knight is All Elite!”
