Willow Nightingale defeated Mercedes Moné to become the new TBS Champion in the main event of the December 31, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. The victory marks Nightingale’s second reign with the title.
Match Highlights and Finish
The championship match was physical, featuring a spot where Moné executed a suplex on Nightingale onto the announce table. During the bout, Moné applied her “Statement Maker” submission. Nightingale eventually countered a jackknife pin attempt and delivered her signature move, the “Doctor Bomb,” to secure the pinfall victory.
Following the three-count, streamers filled the ring as the new champion celebrated. Nightingale was joined in the ring by Harley Cameron and Kris Statlander as the broadcast went off the air.
This championship change continues a long-standing rivalry between the two competitors. Nightingale previously lost the TBS Championship to Mercedes Moné at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May 2024. The history between the two also traces back to May 2023 at NJPW Resurgence, where Nightingale defeated Moné to become the inaugural NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion in a match where Moné sustained a significant ankle injury that sidelined her for nearly a year.
