New Match For AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage

AEW President Tony Khan has officially added a new match to this Wednesday’s Dynamite: Maximum Carnage event. Khan announced via social media that a four-way tag team match will take place to determine the new number one contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. The match will feature The Young Bucks, The Gates of Agony (GOA), JetSpeed, and the newly formed duo of Davis & Doyle representing the Don Callis Family.

The Young Bucks enter the contest on a hot streak, having won four consecutive matches. However, all of those victories came in trios competition, teaming twice with Josh Alexander, once with Jack Perry, and once with Kenny Omega. They will look to translate that momentum back into traditional tag team success against a field of hungry challengers.

The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) are fresh off a victory on Collision last weekend, where they teamed with Ricochet to defeat JetSpeed and Anthony Bowens. Prior to that win, the duo had lost three straight multi-man matches, with their last standard tag team victory coming against the Hurt Syndicate back in October.

JetSpeed (Speedball Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight) will be looking to rebound after a period where both men focused on singles competition in the Continental Classic tournament. Despite the recent loss to GOA in trios action, the tandem did secure a tag team win over Big Bill and Bryan Keith on the January 3 episode of Collision.

The wildcard in the match is the new pairing of Mark Davis and Jake Doyle. This marks the first match for the duo as a tag team and the official in-ring debut for Doyle, formerly known as Jake Something, since joining All Elite Wrestling. Doyle recently left TNA Wrestling to join the Don Callis Family. The updated lineup for AEW Dynamite: Maximum Carnage on January 14 includes:

  • AEW World Championship: MJF (c) vs. Bandido
  • Four-Way Tag Team Contenders Match: The Young Bucks vs. GOA vs. JetSpeed vs. Davis & Doyle
  • The Babes of Wrath & Kris Statlander vs. Triangle of Madness
  • Darby Allin vs. PAC
  • Kenny Omega makes his return
