AEW has confirmed the second match for its Battle of the Belts special this Saturday night on TNT as Cody Rhodes will defend his TNT Championship against Sammy Guevara.
The match announcement was made on Monday. Rhodes defeated Guevara on the special Holiday Bash edition of AEW Rampage on Christmas Day to win the gold.
This was actually the first bout in the history of AEW Dynamite. The only other bout announced for the show is AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker defending her title against Riho.
The special will be one hour long so it’s possible that AEW adds one more match to the lineup. Bryan Danielson vs. “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Heavyweight Title will take place on Wednesday’s Dynamite, the first episode to air on TBS.
