News on a Major WWE Legend Who Is Free to Appear on AEW TV

As many of you saw on AEW Dynamite this week, Sting announced that he would be retiring in February at the Revolution pay-per-view.

There are no details yet on where or what date the show will be held but there is already online speculation on who will be showing up for Sting’s final match and there is speculation on who or what will be the gift for Sting next Wednesday on Dynamite.

For what it’s worth, Ric Flair is not under any type of WWE contract right now so if Tony Khan made the call, there’s a good chance of getting Flair on the show to pay tribute to Sting. Khan and Flair are also good friends and Flair was talked about for AEW appearances a couple of years ago but that never panned out.

Other names that could be brought in for Sting’s retirement are Lex Luger and Ricky Steamboat, among other legendary names. As of now, there have been no hints given as to Sting’s gift this coming Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if WWE reaches out to try to keep Flair from appearing on AEW TV if Khan asks for him to appear.
