Anthony Ogogo has been off AEW TV since June after having his tenth eye surgery in early July.

The reason for the surgery was due to how much scar tissue he had around his eye socket. At the time, he explained that doctors had to go up his nasal cavity to correct the septum that was deviated to fix the orbital, the medial section and the orbital floor through his nose.

Ogogo has issues with his left eye due to his boxing career as he only has 22% vision in that eye. There haven’t been any updates on his status since the surgery until now as QT Marshall, who is the head trainer at the Nightmare Factory, noted in an interview with Daily DDT that Ogogo recently started training again after making the trip back from the UK to the United States.

“He just came back,” Marshall said. “He was overseas getting everything taken care of, so we’ll see. I think it’s about right place, right time, and trying to figure out the right story as well.”

Marshall doesn’t think it’s a good idea to have him go out and take random bumps for no reason. While he has explained that to Ogogo, Marshall knows that everyone’s itching to get back.

“Right now, we have a huge roster of huge stars, so it’s just one of those things of going back to the drawing board and figuring it out. But in the meantime, he’s been training, and working out, and doing what he does. He’ll be ready when that call comes.”

Ogogo became a name for the promotion after having a feud with Cody Rhodes that resulted in a match at Double Or Nothing 2021.
