Omos has expressed his gratitude for AEW star Bobby Lashley, crediting the former WWE Champion with playing a crucial role in his development as a singles competitor. In a recent interview with NarcolepsyBoy94, Omos reflected on their extended feud in 2022, which included his first-ever singles match at WrestleMania.
He stated that the time he spent in the ring with “The All Mighty” had a “tremendous effect” on his career and that he cannot thank him enough for the guidance. Omos’s program with Lashley came at a pivotal time in his career. After debuting on the main roster as the associate of AJ Styles and winning the Raw Tag Team Championship, the duo eventually split.
This led to Omos’s first major singles program and a marquee match against Lashley at WrestleMania 38. Omos explained how significant that moment was for him. “I remember doing that WrestleMania because that was the first time it was like ‘Okay, you’re on your own now, you don’t have Styles, time to figure it out,’ and it was just me in the ring with Bobby,” he said.
The feud between the two stars did not end at WrestleMania, continuing for the better part of two years across various premium live events and television shows. Omos looks back on that extended program as an invaluable learning experience.
“I have a tremendous respect for Bobby Lashley and everything he’s done for me in my career because he really helps me a lot,” he stated. “For almost two years Bobby and I were in a feud, even after we were dominating, me and Bobby were just going at each other for like a year and a half, two years. For that time I spent with him, I cannot thank him enough. It had a tremendous effect on my career as an in-ring performer. I’m glad I was able to have that feud with him.”
While a rematch is not currently possible with Lashley now a featured star in AEW, Omos is open to the idea should their paths ever cross again. “Hopefully, maybe if he does come back, we can run it back, you never know, but man, I love Bobby, man,” he said. Lashley is currently a member of The Hurt Syndicate in AEW, a faction that recently competed against The Demand at the All Out pay-per-view. Omos, meanwhile, remains one of the most physically imposing superstars on the WWE roster, and while he has been used sporadically on television in recent months, his immense size and power make him a constant threat in the heavyweight division.
