Original Plans For AEW Dynasty Title Match

An injury to one AEW star has changed the promotion’s plans for the upcoming Dynasty PPV event.

AEW Dynasty’s card is set to feature a series of high-stakes championship matches, including Toni Storm defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against Megan Bayne and Jon Moxley putting his AEW World Championship on the line against Swerve Strickland. Also on tap is Kenny Omega defending his AEW International Championship in a three-way against Ricochet and Mike Bailey, and the Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta, PAC, and Claudio Castagnoli) defending their AEW Trios Championships against Rated FTR (Adam Copeland, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler).

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW changed its plans for the tag team title match after Brian Cage suffered a knee injury. It happened on an independent show on 3/20 in Los Angeles against Chris Masters.

Meltzer wrote, So the originally planned but not announced Hurt Syndicate vs. Murder Machines match had to be changed and they had to pivot to new challengers, going with Bill & Keith.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
