Original Plans For Bobby Lashley’s AEW Debut

On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, former WWE star Bobby Lashley made his promotional debut. It happened after Swerve Strickland wrestled Shelton Benjamin with MVP at ringside.

Following the bout, the lights went out, with Lashley coming out to make his first appearance with the promotion. He laid out the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion a statement debut.

Earlier this month, there was talk of Lashley making his debut, but it didn’t happen. Fightful Select reports that Lashley confronting and eventually attacking Strickland was actually considered and even at one point planned for AEW Wrestledream.

However, due to Bryan Danielson losing the World Title and the memorable ending of the show, Lashley’s was delayed. Lashley signed with AEW in September before MVP debuted at the Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite. Benjamin quickly followed.
