Sammy Guevara dethroned Miro as the TNT Champion in a match on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Rochester, NY at the Blue Cross Arena.

After sending Miro into the exposed turnbuckle, Guevara then hit a tornado DDT then the GTH and followed by the 630 senton to win the title.

Fightful Select reports the match was originally tentatively planned for the Grand Slam episode of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium last week. However, it was pushed back by one week.

The report noted that several people backstage knew a couple of hours ahead of the show that a title change was happening. AEW President Tony Khan came up with the idea to change the title around All Out earlier this month.

Guevara’s first title defense will take place on next week’s Dynamite against Bobby Fish.

It was worked out timing-wise as Wednesday’s show took place in Rochester, New York, the hometown of Brodie Lee, and it was dedicated to the late great wrestler who had a past TNT Title reign that was memorable.
