Paul Wight Believes Former WWE Star Would Be A ‘Great Heel’ For AEW

Paul Wight believes a recent free agent could be a valuable asset to All Elite Wrestling. Speaking to Notsam Wrestling Live, the man formerly known as The Big Show praised Bishop Dyer, known in WWE as Baron Corbin, suggesting he is exactly what AEW needs.

Wight highlighted Dyer’s technical ability and character work as primary reasons for his endorsement. “I’ve told everyone this — if you look at Tom [Pestock]’s footwork, he’s got some of the best footwork of any big man in wrestling,” Wight explained.

He noted that with the right presentation, Dyer could fill a specific void on the roster. “If we give Tom the right character, he could be such a great heel. He’d be such a great heel for us. He knows how to work. He can talk on the microphone”.

Wight concluded his thoughts by stating that Dyer would actively improve the company. “When I look at people that can help AEW, Tom is a guy that I think could help our product. I really do”.

Dyer was released from WWE in November 2024 after a tenure that included a United States Championship reign, a King of the Ring victory, and a Money in the Bank win. Since his release, he has been active on the independent scene, including appearances for MLW.
