Paul Wight, aka The Big Show, is trying something different in AEW after having several different roles in the promotion.
The future WWE Hall of Famer left WWE after 20 years when he joined AEW in February 2021, where he wrestled a few matches and worked as an announcer. Since then, he has worked a handful of matches.
His last bout saw him reunite with Chris Jericho on the Chris Jericho Cruise earlier this year, where they were wearing their retro gear for the match from their time as a tag team in WWE. In March, Wight noted on his Instagram that he would return to the ring soon. However, that hasn’t happened yet, and there is still no word on when/if it will. The AEW talent recently noted on Instagram that he was back in the gym after replacing his knees and hips.
On Thursday’s episode of ROH TV, it was announced by Wight that Tony Khan had appointed him to the Ring of Honor Board of Directors. His first decision was to make a Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship match for ROH Death Before Dishonor.
That bout would see the Undisputed Kingdom defend their titles against Kyle O’Reilly and “Big Tom” Tomohiro Ishii. Check out the final card here.
Will @MattTaven & @RealMikeBennett defend their #ROH World Tag Team Titles at Death Before Dishonor? Or will they have the day off?
