On Friday, WWE released several Superstars, including AOP (Rezar and Akam), their manager Paul Ellering, Blair Davenport, and Sonya Deville. Cedric Alexander announced his departure from the company and is under a 90-day non-compete clause.
Alexander worked for WWE for nearly a decade. In 2020, Cedric Alexander joined The Hurt Business alongside Bobby Lashley, MVP, and Shelton Benjamin. This popular faction eventually disbanded, but not before Alexander found Tag Team Championship success.
Following his time with The Hurt Business, Alexander’s appearances were limited mainly to house shows, Main Event, and a brief stint in NXT during 2024. Now, he will have to wait for free agency.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “AEW sources expected several within the Hurt Syndicate to push for him.” It’s unclear what Tony Khan’s interest is in him, but since The Hurt Syndicate has arrived in AEW, they’ve been given a big push.
