On May 6th, ROH Acquisition Co., LLC submitted trademark applications for the Ring of Honor name and ROH initials.
ROH Acquisition Co LLC is based out of AEW headquarters at 1 TIAA Bank Field Drive in Jacksonville, Florida. The description of both trademarks read as the following:
“Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of television shows and multimedia entertainment content featuring wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media.”
AEW President Tony Khan announced in early March that he had purchased the promotion. The deal includes ROH’s video library, brand assets, and intellectual property.
The first ROH show under the booking of Khan took place with Supercard of Honor on WrestleMania 38 weekend. There were several memorable moments including the debut of Samoa Joe and FTR defeating Jay and Mark Briscoe to become the ROH Tag Team Champions.
You can see the new logo for the promotion below, but keep in mind that trademarked logo filings are in black and white so the colors could be different in the actual logo:
