The final angle to hype AEW World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho’s next title defense against Jon Moxley was brutal.
As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Kansas City, MO at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on TNT, AEW booked a weigh-in segment at the end of the show.
After Moxley hit the scales, he waited a bit and then connected with a headbutt to Jericho, which busted open the champion.
AEW holds the Revolution pay-per-view event on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in Chicago, IL from the Sears Center. At this show, Jericho will defend the title against Moxley in the main event.
Jericho took to his official Instagram account where he showed off the damage that he suffered from the head of Moxley. He wrote the following in the caption:
“7 stitches courtesy of #JonMoxley on @aewontnt tonight. My bad #Mox…I let my guard down. Not gonna make the same mistake twice on Saturday at #AEWRevolution…your day of reckoning is coming at the hands of #LeChampion!”
