During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Matt Hardy gave his reaction to the comments made by Chris Jericho last week. This is where he invited the leader of The Inner Circle to his Hardy Compound for an Elite Deletion Match.
This led to speculation among fans that it would be similar to his previous Ultimate Deletion match on his property.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the Elite Deletion Match is not a sure thing, but it is under consideration. As of this writing, there’s no word yet as to why AEW let Hardy make the challenge if the decision still hasn’t been made.
Thus, for now, it is still being considered for a future taping. It should be noted that AEW taped a ton of footage of Dynamite over the last week so far in advance to the point where they have enough content to get them through mid-May.
Despite holding off the Blood & Guts match, Hardy is still aligned with The Elite in the feud against The Inner Circle.
This contest would’ve seen Hardy, Cody Rhodes, Matt Jackson, and AEW World Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega & Hangman Page vs. Jericho, Jake Hager, Santana, Ortiz and Sammy Guevara. It was supposed to take place last month but pulled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
