For those fans who feel that it was too early for Chris Jericho to drop the AEW World Championship, the decision may be related to Fozzy’s touring schedule.
It’s quite possible that things would have played out the same way but it’s worth noting that Jericho will start touring again with his Fozzy band in April through May.
Jericho usually takes time away from wrestling when he goes on tour. In this case, his dates do not conflict with AEW Dynamite or the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in May but not being champion can give him flexibility to take time off when he needs it.
Jericho is one of the MVP’s of the company as his Dynamite segments are usually one of the highest rated parts of the show each week and he has worked tirelessly to turn the younger wrestlers into stars.
There were no hints given during the Revolution post-show media scrum on who might be next for Moxley or Jericho but we could find out this Wednesday night on Dynamite. Speaking of Moxley, he noted that he was “half-concussed” during the main event last night. Click here for more backstage news from Revolution including news on a current WWE star who was there.
