AEW President/ROH owner Tony Khan is slated to make another big announcement on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The last time Khan promised such an announcement, it was him revealing he had purchased Ring Of Honor.

Fans have been speculating what it could be. According to Super J-Cast and Ringside News, they’ve heard rumors of a joint show happening between NJPW and AEW in Chicago, possibly in the third week of June. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on the special name for the rumored event nor the matches that will take place.

AEW has working relationships with several promotions including NJPW and Impact Wrestling. In the past, Khan has allowed AEW contracted talent to work for NJPW such as Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley. NJPW talent began appearing on AEW TV last February such as Satoshi Kojima, KENTA, Ren Narita, and Rocky Romero.
