At one time it appeared that AEW was building towards Adam Page challenging World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega for the title at the All Out pay-per-view event. However, the promotion went in a different direction.
Many fans picked up on Page not appearing on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. Pwinsider.com reports the plan was always for Page to take some family time off in advance of his first child being born.
In early June, the AEW star announced that he and his wife Amanda are expecting their first child together. It’s unclear when Page’s wife will give birth to the baby or when Page will return to AEW TV.
Page isn’t advertised for the AEW Fan Fest on All Out Week in early September. He’s featured on the poster for the September 22nd Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite in New York City although it should be noted that the poster was released before Wednesday’s Dynamite and can be changed.
Page’s hope to challenge Omega for the title at All Out came to a halt when he and The Dark Order lost a six-man match on the July 28th edition of Dynamite to Omega and AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks. The stipulations that went along with that match was if the babyfaces won then they would get title matches.
Last week, Page was attacked by Omega. Christian Cage will challenge Omega for the title at All Out instead.
