Fans tuning into Friday’s AEW Rampage episode won’t hear Jim Ross’ voice on commentary for the show. AEW taped the show after Wednesday’s Dynamite.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Ross wasn’t on the show as the broadcast team was Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Paul Wight.
“It’s not anything significant. Tony Khan gave Ross the week off so he could attend the Cheez-It Bowl in Orlando with his favorite University of Oklahoma vs. Florida State,” Meltzer wrote.
Ross is expected to be back for the show in Portland next week. Here is the card for Friday’s Rampage show:
