AEW (All Elite Wrestling) has found it difficult to run the Cincinnati arena due to limited options.
Fightful Select reports that AEW wanted to book an event at the former U.S. Bank Arena, Heritage Bank Arena, but the arena wouldn’t do business with the promotion.
Per the report, the reason for that is due to their relationship with WWE as WWE runs the arena when they hold events in the area. Most famously, this arena caught fire during a WWE show back in 2012. It sits next to the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals stadiums
It turns out that top star Jon Moxley has pushed the promotion to run a show in the Cincinnati area in the fall. He reportedly prefers the Ohio side of things for the event.
It was added that Moxley and others local to the area were hopeful that the brand would be able to run Heritage Bank Arena. Whether AEW can convince the arena to book an event there remains to be seen.
