REPORT: Britt Baker Actively Seeking Release From AEW (Updated)

There are new developments regarding the status of former AEW Women’s World Champion, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. According to a report from Mark (@WrestleMobs) of BodySlam.net, Baker is actively seeking to part ways with All Elite Wrestling.

However, sources indicate that AEW is not currently looking to grant her a release from her contract. Sources close to the situation claim that Baker feels there is nothing left for her in AEW, citing “burned bridges and a sense that the environment has changed around her.”

On the other side of the equation, sources close to Viper (@ViperReports) have indicated that WWE is currently not showing interest in signing Baker, and her name has not come up in internal discussions as a potential signing. This could be due to a lack of clarity regarding her contract status and availability. For now, it appears the situation is at a standstill.

There was a backstage altercation with MJF and Baker reportedly late last year. The incident allegedly began when Baker was overheard complaining about the TV time given to a match between MJF and Will Ospreay. MJF’s girlfriend, Alicia Atout, relayed the comments to him, leading to a heated confrontation between Baker and MJF, which resulted in Baker being suspended.

These incidents have reportedly led to frustration from Tony Khan, which is a primary reason for her prolonged absence from AEW television. It’s also possible that she may have been kept off TV due to injury.

Fightful Select has since confirmed that Baker is not actively seeking to leave the promotion. For more on that, click here.
