REPORT: Chris Jericho Believed To Have Signed New AEW Deal Following Dynamite Return

The general belief among those backstage at AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night is that Chris Jericho has come to terms with AEW on a new deal, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

The nature of Jericho’s arrival at the Dynamite event in Winnipeg, Manitoba added intrigue to an already anticipated situation. Jericho was not present backstage at AEW until moments before the show went on the air, with sources telling PWInsider he was driven directly into the venue approximately two minutes before Dynamite began broadcasting and went straight to the gorilla position for his ring entrance.

Following his in-ring appearance, Jericho stayed busy behind the scenes. He filmed additional content for the company after returning from the ring and participated in a photo shoot. He also made the rounds backstage and took time to introduce himself to members of the roster he did not already know.

Jericho’s return comes after a period of speculation about his future, with reports having indicated that conversations with both AEW and WWE had taken place in recent months. AEW sources had expressed a growing belief in recent days that Jericho would be returning to the company, with the nature of his Cornerstone trademark filing said to make more sense in an AEW context. WWE talks were reported to have produced no concrete creative plans for the former World Champion at any major event earlier this year.

No official announcement regarding the terms or length of Jericho’s new deal has been made by AEW at this time.
