REPORT: Hurt Syndicate May Be Adding New Members

The Hurt Syndicate has been the most dominant faction in AEW over the past year, and the group may be looking to expand its ranks. A new report from Fightful Select indicates that there have been internal discussions within AEW about adding new, younger members to the group.

According to the report from Sean Ross Sapp, the discussions have centered on bringing in younger talent to bolster the faction. While the report did not name any specific individuals that AEW has discussed internally, it did address the rampant online speculation about Cedric Alexander. Fans have suggested Alexander as a natural fit due to his history with the group in WWE, but Fightful has not heard that he is being brought into the company at this time.

Alexander has recently been working dates for TNA, though his contractual status with that promotion is unconfirmed. The report refutes any notion that the group’s leader, MVP, is on his way out of AEW, stating that despite some unusual reports earlier in the year, they have heard nothing of the sort. All current members of the Hurt Syndicate are reportedly signed to multi-year contracts and are doing well with the company.

The current iteration of the Hurt Syndicate in AEW consists of MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin. The group previously found massive success in WWE as The Hurt Business. During that run, which also included Cedric Alexander, the faction dominated the Raw brand, with Lashley capturing the WWE Championship and Benjamin and Alexander winning the Raw Tag Team Championship. Their history together is a key reason why fans continue to speculate about Alexander potentially joining his former partners in AEW, though for now, that remains only a fantasy booking scenario.

At AEW All Out, happening on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, The Hurt Syndicate is scheduled to face Ricochet and The Gates of Agony in a trios match.
