REPORT: Kyle Fletcher Wearing Walking Boot Following AEW Collision

AEW TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher appears to have suffered a legitimate injury during Saturday’s Collision taping in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, leaving the show in a walking boot, according to Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline.com.

Fletcher was in tag team action alongside Mark Davis, with the two defeating Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier of The Rascals. During the match, there was a spot where Fletcher’s knee made awkward contact with Davis’s back as both men fell, raising immediate concern about the nature of the impact. Despite the apparent injury, Fletcher completed the match with Davis scoring the pinfall for their team.

Alvarez shared the update shortly after the event. “Kyle Fletcher left the show tonight in a walking boot,” Alvarez wrote. “Whatever the injury is it’s legit. Hoping for the best.”

The timing is significant given where Fletcher is in his AEW storyline. He has been at the center of a program involving his friendship with Konosuke Takeshita, with fellow Don Callis Family member Kazuchika Okada attempting to drive a wedge between the two. On the same Collision broadcast, Okada told Fletcher that the two of them were going to be champions again because he believed in Fletcher. The TNT Champion responded by telling Okada that once they reclaimed the Trios titles, he planned to go after MJF and the AEW World Championship.

The nature and severity of the injury have not been confirmed. AEW has not issued any official statement on Fletcher’s condition at this time. We wish him a speedy recovery.
