REPORT: The Elite Refusing to Have a Sit Down With CM Punk, Want to Remain Away From Him

The issues between CM Punk and The Elite (Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson, & “Hangman” Adam Page) were back in the headlines in recent days after Punk did a shoot promo on Page following Saturday’s Collision.

The issues go back to the backstage brawl with Punk, Omega, and The Young Bucks at All Out 2022 after he ripped several wrestlers, including all of the members of the Elite, at the post-event press conference before getting to the fight.

When Punk returned to AEW, Punk was separated from those who didn’t like him by working on the Collision brand. The issues between those in AEW who don’t like CM Punk and Punk did not improve following his interview with ESPN and his return promo. It was said the divisiveness has become worse.

Punk’s comments about Page are not a work, and as recently as earlier this month, it was reported that there were still significant backstage issues between the two sides.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported, “Punk claims to people that he talks to that he still wants to sit down with Hangman Page, Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, but they refuse.”

Those that Fightful has talked with have noted Page tries to avoid the situation and, over the last year, hasn’t been interested in working with Punk.

While those on Page’s side state that the promo by Punk was not a work, many people who work on the Collision brand “said that they believe Punk is trying to work himself into an angle.”

It was added by those close to The Elite have stated situations like this make the EVPs want to distance themselves more.
