Following a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stating that AEW has no plans to release Rey Fenix from his contract or utilize him in the near future, the luchador took to Instagram Live to address the speculation.
While not explicitly mentioning AEW, Fenix’s comments seemingly alluded to the recent reports. In the video (scroll to watch), he stated:
“There are many things that are not known, but that also should not be talked about. We have to wait. Professionalism above all, gentlemen.
We must not be the same as all those podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out. Never belittling our work. There are things that must always be respected, many are already forgetting everything that wrestling has given them.”
Fenix’s emphasis on professionalism and respect suggests a frustration with the public discussion surrounding his contractual situation. His comments about “podcasts that go around spitting out what should not be spit out” appear to be a criticism of those who have reported or commented on his AEW status.
The future remains uncertain for Fenix in AEW. When his deal eventually expires, the belief is that he will be WWE-bound with his brother Penta El Zero Miedo.

No hay que ser los mismos de todos esos podcasts que andan escupiendo lo que no se debe de escupir. Nunca… pic.twitter.com/Qparw5ZaeF
