Rey Fenix Is Now A Free Agent, Expected To Be WWE-Bound

Update: PWInsider.com reports that Fenix has been released and is a free agent.

Original: On Monday, fans noticed that Rey Fenix had been removed from AEW’s official roster page on its website. This comes after Bryan Alvarez reported that more AEW releases may be coming this month.

When a wrestler is removed from AEW’s site, it usually indicates that the wrestler has been released. This most recently happened with Miro, Ricky Starks, and Malaki Black.

Fenix had been waiting for his deal to expire because AEW opted to add time to it due to missed time due to injury. The belief is that the added time is close to a year, and once that time passes, he will reunite with Penta El Zero M as Lucha Bros, where he could head to WWE, as WWE is interested in them. Penta has been pushed as a rising star since making his WWE debut.

Fenix nor AEW have yet to confirm his release.
