Ricky Starks Expected To Go To WWE Once AEW Contract Expires

The writing is on the wall that Ricky Starks’ time in AEW may be coming to an end after not being used in months.

Starks was last seen on television when he worked a match on the March 30 episode of AEW Collision. During it, he had an injury scare that led to Top Flight going over in the bout originally planned for Starks and Big Bill to win.

Starks has made it clear that he was not injured in the past and had no answers regarding why AEW has not used him. AEW President Tony Khan has said he would love to have Starks back.

A previous update from Fightful noted that breaking up with Big Bill and feuding with him was the only pitch Starks turned down in the last several months. He was against it because Starks did not think Big Bill losing a feud with him would benefit Bill. Instead, he wanted them to have an amicable split, if anything.

PWInsider.com reported this week that there is “certainly interest” in a number of AEW stars whose deals are close to expiring or have been off TV for some time, including Starks.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Starks is expected to go to WWE when his deal is up. It’s still unclear when Starks’ AEW deal is up.
