Ricky Starks To Make Rare Wrestling Appearance Amid AEW Hiatus

Ricky Starks is slated to make a rare non-AEW appearance at a time when his future with the promotion is in question.

AEW hasn’t used Starks in several months, to the point where many in AEW expect him to leave and go to WWE when his deal is up. Last month there was a social media rumor went around that Starks may be a free agent already, but that was not the case.

Regardless, Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan reported “significant interest” within WWE NXT in bringing Starks to the brand whenever he becomes available. Tony Khan stated during the All Out media call that Starks has been a great star for AEW and thinks highly of him. Khan said Starks is a well-regarded wrestler who remains under contract with the promotion.

Starks announced via Twitter that he will be making an appearance at the Wrestling Universe in New York City on September 22, from 12 pm to 3 pm.

He wrote in the caption, ”Few rare appearances like these so come say hello this Sunday!! 12pm-3PM @TheWrestlingUni.”
