Ruby Soho says a former WWE star surprised her backstage at AEW All Out

AEW star Ruby Soho was interviewed on “Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette.” Soho talked about her AEW debut, getting her name from the members of Rancid, her upcoming match at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam with Dr. Britt Baker, DMD and much more.

Here are some highlights:

Ruby talked about the emotions she felt to the crowd reaction to her AEW debut:

“I couldn’t believe, first of all, that they were chanting for me.  That’s who they wanted.  Secondly, they were chanting a name that I hadn’t even called myself yet.  That was amazing.  I told John Carlos, ‘Thank you so much for helping me do those videos because that helped the spark of letting people know this is what I wanted to be called.  Everything had fallen together so perfectly.  When my music hit, and I went out, the reaction on my face was every ounce of genuine, like really authentic.  I could not contain how happy I was in that moment.  I just want to live right there forever because I couldn’t believe the reception that I got.  I just couldn’t believe it.  I was like, wow, these people are excited that I’m here, and I’m so excited to be here.  We are sharing this moment together.  Then hearing ‘Ruby Soho’ behind me was unbelievable because I’m like, wow, this is my love for punk rock and my love for pro wrestling, something that’s built who I am as a person, coming together in this one perfect moment.”

Ruby said Sarah Logan surprised her by showing up backstage at that AEW All Out:

“I got pulled over on the way to the show.  I was 15 minutes late.  I was so excited.  I was speeding like a mad woman.  I got pulled over.  I got a ticket, but I’m freaking out.  I’m trying to calm myself down.  I’m texting Sarah at different points.  I said, ‘I was going to call you, but I’m trying to stay focused and be calm right now, but I’ll text you when I get to the venue.’  She texted back, ‘I’m here for you.’  In my head, I’m like, ‘Oh, she’s here for me.  That’s so sweet.  That’s nice of her.’  I got to the venue.  I have a hood on, and everybody is trying to sneak me in.  I’m still flustered because I’m late and excited.  I open the door and she is the first person I see, and she has Cash (her baby boy) with her.  I just started balling.  I hugged her.  I grabbed Cash and I held him.  I said, ‘What are you guys doing here?’  She said, ‘I’m here for you.’  Apparently, she had it planned for a while, and she’s terrible at keeping secrets.  She almost spilled it 3 or 4 times while she had it.  She was almost telling me about Cash’s first airplane trip before I was ever supposed to know about it.  It was amazing because she’s always been there for all of our milestones in our career.  We’ve been together since we first started, and for her to be there made it that much more special.”
