Fightful Select reports that Jimmy Jacobs is not back with the company despite recent speculation fueled by an Instagram post promoting AEW Dynamite.
Jacobs has had a diverse career, known both for his in-ring work and backstage roles. He made a name for himself in ROH, where he was a five-time World Tag Team Champion. His creative mind then led him to work behind the scenes for major promotions.
Jacobs joined WWE’s creative team in 2015, contributing to memorable segments like “The List of KO” with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. He was reportedly fired from WWE in 2017 after posting a photo with Bullet Club members during their “invasion” of Raw, which was seen as disrespectful.
After WWE, Jacobs moved to TNA (now Impact Wrestling), where he also worked in creative and had an on-screen managing role. He left TNA in 2018, citing burnout and a desire for new creative blood.
He joined AEW in June 2023 as a producer and creative team member. Jacobs left AEW in October 2024, citing burnout and a desire to take a break from wrestling. He clarified that his role in AEW was more administrative, organizing information for Tony Khan, rather than directly writing TV.
