People are still discussing the meeting with Shane McMahon and AEW President Tony Khan at a private Arlington airport.
WrestleTalk and Fightful reported that Khan and McMahon discussed “possibilities moving forward.” Fightful noted that Khan had been “open” to talking with McMahon for a while. However, it was believed they had never talked or spoken before the recent rumors about McMahon possibly going to AEW.
Khan has yet to publicly comment on the meeting, although Khan has said in past interviews that McMahon was “welcome to stop by at any time” and “seems like a nice guy.”
Bully Ray issued a statement from McMahon that he read on Busted Open Radio. The full statement can be read below:
“Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting. We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five-year anniversary of AEW and look forward to see how he evolves the business moving forward.”
