It didn’t take Shaquille O’Neal long to make his intentions known about a potential match in AEW.
On Monday, it was announced that O’Neal signed a new deal with WarnerMedia. This extension will see him do various projects including a potential appearance on AEW Dynamite.
AEW has a crossover with the NBA since All Elite Wrestling airs their weekly television show, Dynamite, on TNT while the network also airs NBA games.
Shaq elaborated on a possible AEW appearance while speaking to The Athletic. This is where he stated that he would love to fight former AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes.
“I’d love to fight Cody. Write it. Print it. Text it to him. Call AEW up and tell them.”
Rhodes dropped the AEW TNT Title this past Saturday on a special episode of Dynamite. In the main event, Brodie Lee beat Rhodes to win the title in Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place. Lee did so in dominating fashion and even had members of the Dark Order destroy Cody, Dustin, and Brandi Rhodes to close out the show.
AEW did an injury storyline with Cody, which will have the fallout continue this coming Thursday.
