Shaquille O’Neal may step into the ring in AEW as part of new deal with WarnerMedia

Shaquille O’Neal has signed a new deal with WarnerMedia, which will feature him doing various projects including a potential appearance on AEW Dynamite.

Variety has an article up looking at the announcement from the AT&T-owned entertainment company on Monday.

The multi-year deal will see him extend his reach with TNT’s NBA coverage as well as be part of various projects for the company’s Bleacher Report in addition to do a new show for NBA TV and potentially appear on All Elite Wrestling programming as Dynamite airs on TNT.

The former NBA star is a wrestling fan and even worked The Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32. Of course, this is where he had an exchange with The Big Show.

For about a year, the two big men talked about wanting to work a match at WrestleMania 33.

Shaq previously revealed in April 2017 on an episode of his podcast that the reason the match fell through was due to him feeling like WWE was playing him as they changed plans for the contest a few times before canceling it. Thus, he made other arrangements and the match never happened even though WWE had attempted to book again.

Obviously, Shaq has yet to make an appearance on AEW programming but with this new deal with WarnerMedia and a good idea pitched by AEW officials, perhaps that could change.
