Shelton Benjamin On Tony Khan: “He’s Given My Career New Life”

It has been nine months since The Hurt Syndicate—Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MVP—formed in All Elite Wrestling, and they have since become a dominant force, with Lashley and Benjamin currently reigning as the AEW World Tag Team Champions. During a recent Hurt Business reunion panel, members of the group had high praise for their current boss, AEW President Tony Khan.

Footage from the Q&A session was posted to the Going Ringside YouTube channel, where Benjamin spoke about the opportunities Khan has created for wrestlers outside of WWE. “I think Tony’s been great. I like to point this out: No matter what your opinion is, Tony has created a lane for people to be on TV, have gainful employment, and make a name for themselves,” Benjamin said.

He continued, “So, I think first and foremost, I commend him for that because he’s, you know, given my career new life. He’s given guys who probably wouldn’t even get a sniff at the other place a chance to actually be stars, so I think that alone makes Tony a real special guy. Tony’s been nothing but great to me, and I think the other guys would say the same since we arrived.”

The Hurt Syndicate has recently expanded, adding former AEW World Champion MJF to their ranks, further solidifying their position at the top of the company.
