During an appearance on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning podcast, Snoop Dogg confirmed reports about WWE not being happy about him appearing on AEW Dynamite.
When his AEW appearance was announced in December, Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that people in WWE were not too happy about it since Snoop has a history with WWE.
Snoop said that WWE “felt some kind of way, too.” He added that he’s not a wrestler and he’s “bigger than that” but what happened was that since Cody Rhodes is one of the judges on TBS’ “Go Big Show,” the idea was pitched to have Snoop on AEW’s show as a way to do some cross-promotion.
Snoop said that WWE told him that they wanted to “push pause” on their relationship but he got a call two weeks later about being featured on the upcoming wrestling game. Presumably, he’s talking about WWE 2K22.
