As AEW approaches one of its biggest events of the year, Double or Nothing, the promotion could be getting back one of its biggest stars on television.
That star is MJF, who has not been seen since working the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event in December with a torn labrum and a hip injury. In late April, MJF had reportedly undergone surgery to get his left shoulder fixed.
Fightful Select reports several sources in AEW are under the belief that he could be coming back sooner than later. Most of those sources expect him to be in the mix by the June Forbidden Door PPV event in New York, if not sooner.
Regarding the reported surgery, Fightful had not heard anything about it. MJF has stayed quiet about his injury status since Worlds End.
MJF’s deal was originally slated to expire in December, but MJF remains under AEW contract for quite some time as he got an extension. MJF has yet to confirm it. The new deal makes him one of the highest earners in AEW.
