Sting’s Son Garrett Borden Wins His Pro Wrestling Debut

Garrett Borden, the elder son of WWE Hall of Famer Sting, has officially launched his professional wrestling career, picking up a win in his in-ring debut at the Rhodes Wrestling Association’s Final Reckoning event Sunday in Leander, TX.

Borden defeated Brandon Barretta in singles action, hitting his father’s signature Stinger Splash in the corner during the match and putting Barretta away with an Angle Slam into a neckbreaker for the pinfall.

Borden is the eldest of Sting’s two sons. He has previously appeared on AEW television as part of Sting’s retirement programming. He portrayed Surfer Sting at his father’s final match at AEW Revolution 2024, while his younger brother Steven Borden Jr. wore Wolfpac Sting colors for the same moment. Both brothers spent years away from the wrestling business before catching the bug during Sting’s retirement tour.

Steven Borden Jr. is the further-along of the two. He made his pro wrestling debut in October 2025 in a tag team match with JD Drake against Darby Allin and Killer Kross. He has since worked dark matches for AEW and ROH tapings since December 2025, won his NJPW debut at Academy Showcase earlier this spring.

Garrett’s wife also has training ties to the Rhodes Wrestling Academy, where she competed as Jael before going on hiatus in 2025 after the birth of their son. She is now actively involved in AEW’s Community Outreach department. The Rhodes Wrestling Association and Rhodes Wrestling Academy are both operated by AEW coach Dustin Rhodes, Cody Rhodes’ older half-brother and Sting’s longtime AEW tag team partner.

The Final Reckoning event card also featured Brock Anderson, the son of Arn Anderson, and a number of additional Rhodes Wrestling Academy graduates. Garrett, like Steven, is in his 30s. Brandon Barretta is a 28-year-old Ohio Valley Wrestling regular and two-time OVW Tag Team Champion who has been picking up bookings across the Texas indie circuit in 2026.

Sting officially retired at AEW Revolution 2024 in Greensboro, NC, defeating The Young Bucks in a tag team match alongside Darby Allin to end his 39-year wrestling career undefeated in AEW.
