During the broadcast of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, commentator Michael Cole took a moment to acknowledge his former broadcast partners before John Cena’s retirement match against Gunther. Cole listed several colleagues he had worked with throughout Cena’s career, including Taz, Jim Ross, Corey Graves, Jerry “The King” Lawler, and John Bradshaw Layfield.
Following the mention, Taz took to X to shout-out his congratulations to Cena on his 26-year career.
“Major congrats to the man @JohnCena on an absolutely amazing career,” Taz wrote. “Cena always was a super guy & amazing performer! I miss him.”
Memories with Cole
Taz also addressed his former commentary partner directly, reflecting on their shared history calling SmackDown during Cena’s rise.
“I have amazing memories of calling so many of Cena segments w/ my man @MichaelCole during our years on SmackDown,” Taz stated.
The exchange highlighted the history between the two commentators, who were the voice of the SmackDown brand for several years during the early 2000s.
