Three top AEW stars injured on Dynamite

Bryan Alvarez mentioned on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that there were at least three stars that were injured on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT in Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place.

First up is Fenix as he went for a dive off the top rope to the floor and landed on some wrestlers who were supposed to catch him. However, he landed short and crashed down to the ground.

It was noted that he hit his hip hard on the ground. The belief is that he’ll be okay for Saturday’s Double or Nothing PPV event where he’s slated to work the Casino Ladder Match to crown a new #1 contender to the AEW World Heavyweight Title.

The second injury was to Britt Baker, who worked a tag team match by teaming up with Nyla Rose to take on Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander on the show. It happened when Rose was thrown by Shida and Statlander onto Baker.

After the spot, Baker stayed in the corner. It appears that Rose landed on Baker’s knee. Per the report, AEW officials think it’s probably bad and could be a serious knee injury but there’s no word yet on how exactly bad the damage is.

Baker is slated to take on Statlander in a singles match at Double or Nothing. For now, that contest is still planned.

Finally, after being home for months and missing AEW shows, The Young Bucks made their return on this show. Unfortunately, Matt Jackson might have suffered an injury.

The Young Bucks did a dive onto The Inner Circle, which is where officials think that Matt might have injured his rib. Whether it’s broken or bruised isn’t known yet until he gets x-rays done.

The Elite (Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Adam Page) vs. The Inner Circle (Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz) in a Stadium Stampede Match is slated to take place at Double or Nothing.
