Thunder Rosa confirms how AEW was able to book her at All Out while under NWA contract

NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa surprised fans when she showed up on an episode of AEW Dynamite last month.

She did so to kick off a feud with AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida that saw Rosa issue a challenge to Shida for a title match at the upcoming All Out pay-per-view event. All Elite Wrestling has since made the match booking official. In fact, Rosa will work a singles match on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.

After Rosa made the first AEW appearance, fans questioned how this was done as up until that point, there was no working relationship between the two promotions.

Dave Meltzer was the first to report that Tony Khan reached out to Billy Corgan and an agreement was reached. Thus, the reason Rosa was mentioned as an NWA champion and the belt was used on television.

Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful Select mentioned some news and notes from an interview with Rosa he conducted with the NWA star.

Rosa confirmed the report about how the deal to bring her into All Elite Wrestling was made between NWA and AEW directly and she did not contact the promotion first.

Rosa said she wants to be respectful to the NWA while working for them and she wasn’t expecting it to go down, but doesn’t consider anything a surprise anymore.

She added that she was brought to the tapings to film everything that was planned for her and was happy with how everything worked out. Rosa doesn’t think she has anything to lose by taking the match.

AEW All Out takes place this Saturday night.
